The primary purpose of a walk-through prior to closing is to make certain new home buyers become familiar with operating all systems of their new Almont home.
During your walk-through, you will also have the opportunity to check over everything in your new home. If you find any items that may need some attention, the builder will create a punch list.
While the builder does his best to complete all punch list items from the initial walk-through prior to closing, there are times when this is not possible.
If this happens, Almont homeowners have a full month after their closing date to submit one list to us to address items that are still in need of repair. This gives you a full month to settle into your new home and have time to check everything out.
Please note: Your list is for punch items that were not completed prior to closing or found after move-in. It specifically excludes paint and sheetrock items (unless we missed an area completely) or any request for repairs for damage caused by movers or living in the home.
If you do need to submit a post-closing list, please complete this covenient online form: 30 Day Post-Closing Form. Once your list is received, an Almont representative will contact you to schedule a day and time that is convenient for you during our regular business hours (Mon-Fri. 8am-4pm) to have someone come address your concerns.
Following proper procedure is very important. Clear communication and a written record will ensure your ongoing happiness with your new home
So if a door latch is not locking properly or we missed painting an area inside of a closet, no worries, just submit a request within the first month and someone will come address your concerns. Please remember, you may submit one list during the first month in your home. We want you to receive your home as contracted and begin enjoying life as a new Almont home owner.
And remember, Almont Homes also offers a one-year warranty for workmanship. So set a reminder for yourself at the 11-month mark to send in your final list if any defects have become apparent since moving in.
